SANDRA MUCHA ARTWORK

Thank you for visiting my site. I enjoy bending shapes and exploring different types of perspectives in my art. As a child growing up in Buffalo, NY, I loved seeing the old architecture the city had to offer. Now, I seek out European architecture from travels or inspiration found near my home in the Dallas Fort-Worth Area. I go into the studio open to see where the muse leads me. Maybe it is a surreal bird's eye view, a worm's view, or a twisted or grounded horizon line. Either way, just showing up and being engaged in my own imagination or putting paint on the canvas are the most important activities I can do as an artist.

I have loved painting as long as I can remember. I recall the amazing effect of stretching images and my imagination with Silly Putty which lead me to my question of what if i took it larger on canvas. I also enrolled in a cake decorating class in junior high, because of it's thick impasto like frosting for paint.

My journey has taken me from sketching in the margins of my elementary book covers to being an artist and art instructor, with interwoven avenues of calligraphy, watercolor, photography, printmaking, paint on canvas, textile and graphic design and other means of creating.

I am a member of the Texas Visual Art Association, Richardson Civic Art Society, and currently live in Richardson, Texas, with my family, raising our 7-year old son who inspires me everyday.
